R57 (2004 - 2015)
The Convertible’s upgrades in 2009 focused on additional safety and performance features. These included the addition of an innovative electromotive safety bar, allowing for maximum visibility whilst driving along with safety features such as run-flat tyres, tyre pressure monitoring and a sophisticated driving stability system. The updated Convertible also benefits from a new generation of 1.6L 4-cylinder engines across the range.

F57 (2015 - 2018)
The roof mechanics of the Convertible were updated and the soft-top roof now has an automatic opening and closing function, completing the job in 18 seconds. Under the hood, the Convertible has been fitted with three performance options, all MINI TwinPower Turbo engines, to enhance driving fun and performance. There are two petrol and one diesel engines.

F57 (2018 - Present)
2018’s update saw the introduction of the digitised central console, complete with touchscreen as well as updated trims and wheels. The Cooper S model now achieves 178 HP.
With the 2021 updates, the new MINI Convertible looks just as good on the inside as it does on the outside. Elegant Piano Black surfaces exhibit an understated elegance, while updates to the steering wheel design mean you can take every corner in complete luxury.
