2001 - 2006
The first MINI after BMW took the helm, the R50 emphasised continuity with MINI’s classic design.
Updated in 2006, the exterior of the R56 was largely unchanged from the R50. It retained the modern twist-on-a-classic style, alongside minor updates, such as the headlamps incorporating turn signals.
2014 - 2018
The all-new MINI included added features on both the redesigned interior and exterior, including a new navigation system, new lights and grille as well as changes to the engine. The updated engine incorporated MINI TwinPower Turbo technology into the Cooper, Cooper S and Cooper D models, improving performance and driving experience.
2018 - Present
In 2018, the electronics and exterior colours were updated, whilst retaining the classic MINI design.
